Autumn Gold

Another version of an old Andy Irvine song from Patrick pdebee. I love to hear his versions of Andy's songs. He's a fantastic player of the bouzouki.

The Close Shave

Well, I think it's Andy Irvine cover-version time. Here's kyle with a superb version of the close shave.

Bonny Woodhall

Patrick (pdebee) and his version of Andy Irvine's classic tune Bonny Woodhall. I can't believe how good Patrick is able to play all these Andy Irvine songs. And it seems there are some more coming soon. I hope that he some day publishes the chords and hints how to play these songs.

Patrick has now rerecorded his version on his "Andylin" which suits his voice much better. Please have a look at his youtube-site and read his really long comment on this song. (double-click on the video)

Oslo - Cover Version of Andy Irvine Song

In this video pdebee is playing a remarkable version of the Andy Irvine Song "Oslo" which can be found on his new album "abocurragh". This song has some tricky fingerings, I haven't tried to pay it yet, but I think this will be a good deal of work. Thank you pdebee for this fantastic video.

Bouzouki Rhythm

Clunktrip shows some basic rhythm patterns for the bouzouki. Especially if you like the playing of Eamon Doorley of Danu and Julie Fowlis this could be of interest. I like this video a lot and hope he will provide us with more ideas of backing up songs and tunes.

Andy Irvine - New Album out

Andy's new album called Abocurragh is out now.

Some of the tracks on the album were long awaited to be released as they are part of his live repertiore for many years now, like "The close shave" or "The spirit of Mother Jones". But there are also lots of new songs and a newly recorded "Willy of Winsbury" (Remember Sweeney's Men?).

You can listen to 30 sec samples on his website. I tried to order it for two weeks or so but didn't get an answer from Andy (He was on tour, as nearly always, wasn't he?). But today I got a mail from him. He now has changed his website, so it is possible to order the new album directly from him. I think it would be a nice gesture, to order directly from him so he gets all the benefits for his work.
