Ruby Tuesday

A few days ago I found an old album by Melanie. I was about 10 years ago when I heard the song Ruby Tuesday for the first time. Years later I had the chance to listen to the original version by the Stones. I must say I was a bit disappointed. Melanie did a good job on that song.

I hadn't heard it for many years. So I took my Zouk and tried to play it. Well I think it works good on the zouk.

Hi Ohrenspitzer,
Great playing on the bazouki, and I think if you put this version of 'Ruby T' out on CD you could make your fortune!
However, for me Sir Mick's version is still the definitive one, tho' you are running him a close second!

Tell me, what is the tuning of the bazouki - GDAE?
I am learning mandolin but also love the deeper sound and resonance of your Zouk.
Cheers!

Hi David,

thank you for your kind words. My zouk is tuned GDAD. I love this tuning because of the drones you can play with it. If you play in G or D it is possible to leave the highest string empty. This gives this typical ringing to the sound.
